Where were you in 1999? For this Brooklyn based indie rock band they were just forming. They have been together for 13 years and released 5 Albums during this time with the sixth “Touble will Find me” to be released May 20th. The band’s lyrics, which have been described as “dark, melancholy and difficult to interpret”, are written and sung by Matt Berninger. The rest of the band is composed of two pairs of brothers: twins Aaron (guitar and keyboard) and Bryce Dessner (guitar) and Scott (bass) and Bryan Devendorf (drums).
WHAT?
The bands sixth studio album ‘Trouble Will Find Me’ is released today (Friday May 17th).
Aaron Dessner (guitar) said “our ideas would immediately click with each other. It’s free-wheeling again. The songs on one level are our most complex, and on another they’re our most simple and human. It just feels like we’ve embraced the chemistry we have”
The album features an impressive lineup of guest musicians, including Sufjan Stevens, St. Vincent and Sharon Van Etten.

“FIDLAR does not give a fuck what the rest of the world think. They are having fun and everyone’s invited.” 9 Stars – Sludge Factory
WHO?
Skating in from LA, this garage punk-surf-skate band called FIDLAR (Fuck. It. Dog. Life’s. A. Risk) is ready to have a loose goon party with you. Influenced by punk rockers like Offspring and Blink-182 brothers Max and Elvis Kueehn were playing rock punk shows in their teens, they then got Carper and Brandon Schwartzel to join up were they released singles ‘Wake Bake Skate’, ‘Cheap Beer’, ‘Max Can’t Surf’ and‘No Waves No Ass’. With titles like that I think you know what you are in for. P.S sometimes they tattoo their audience so consider yourself warned.
WHAT?
They used to leaked there demo by making music videos of “found footage” that glorified messing drinking, ass shaking, smoking, shooting guns and the entire opening credits of Top Gun, which got a lot of attention, naturally! They have had a bunch of EP’s out before releasing a self-titled album ‘FIDLAR’ earlier this year. Currently causing mayhem and destruction as they tour the US with WAVVES.

The National: Our songs are about death – but in really fun ways
The National recently spoke to The Guardian UK’s Laura Barton ahead of the release of their sixth studio album ‘Trouble Will Find Me’.
She writes: “The National are that rare type of band, regarded with reverence by audiences and critics alike. Though some might dismiss their work as miserablist dirge, an Eeyored monologue backed by guitars, this would be to overlook the National’s keen sense of lyrical humour, their delight in language and musical experimentation. What they have perfected, over the course of six albums, is a kind of glistening melancholy, a strangely beautiful dourness.”

This New York-Based gloomy pop duo named MS MR consisting of vocalist Lizzy Plapinger and Producer Max Hershenow. They first caught our attention with their infectious single ‘hurricane’ a dark yet sinfully melodic heartbreak anthem. Also within the same year releasing two other singles ‘Bones’ and ‘Fantasy’ they describe their music as “Tumblr flitch pop and fuzz electroshock” we think their outfits fit this description too.
WHAT?
The duo sparked much interest with their EP “Candy Bar Creep Show” released on the 14th of September last year. Music fans all over have waited in anticipation for the release of their debut album “Secondhand Rapture” which includes tracks from the original EP and 8 More tracks for us to learn the words to before Splendour. Talk about perfect timing.
