Did you know if you’ve been to Splendour in the Grass five times or more you qualify for the Splendour Members Club?
We love our long-term supporters, and to reward your loyalty we offer Splendour Members exclusive pre-sale tickets. You are GUARANTEED tickets if you buy in the Splendour Members Presale, and you can buy up to 4 tickets, that means you can sort out 3 mates as well.
Your 5 Splendours don’t have to be consecutive, but we do have to verify your attendance.
In 2006 we started electronic ticketing. If your 5 Splendours are from 2006 onwards, easy. Send us your completed application with your full name and date of birth, we look you up, and if you’re eligible, you’re in.
If any of your Splendour attendances were before 2006, we’ll need other proof. Here are the best options:
- Ticket purchase receipt
- Credit card statement for tickets
- Ticket stubs
Submit this evidence along with a copy of your valid photo ID (driver’s license or passport) and you’re in.
We get that you might not be able to dig up this kind of proof, so we’ll also consider photos of you at Splendour pre 2006 BUT it has to be in front of a recognizable feature from that year’s festival.
If your only proof of being at Splendour from 2001 to 2005 is a piece of merch, like a t-shirt or stubby cooler, a photo of you holding or wearing the merch will do, BUT these pics should also include some more photos from the event and/or an anecdote from your Splendour experience.
Don’t send your treasured Splendour stubby holder or tattered tee – we don’t return anything sent in the mail. Scans, digital snaps or photocopies only please.
Splendour Members Club
PO Box 2476

If you are already a Splendour Member, sit back, and wait for the email to all Splendour Members (old and new) with the details of your exclusive presale.
Just make sure your moshtix account is up-to-date, and if you’ve changed your email addy since becoming a Splendour Member, drop us a line with your old and new details to firstname.lastname@example.org

FREE FUN... SPLENDOUR IN THE CRAFT
Splendour has always dedicated itself to offering its audience more than just music. There's arts, culture and thought-provoking discussions on offer throughout the festival to provide some respite from the craziness, but also to offer a well-rounded weekend. This year, our newest attraction SPLENDOUR IN THE CRAFT was hugely popular, and provided just one more alternative experience at Splendour.
Thanks to Spotlight and Frankie Magazine, the CRAFT shed was a hive of activity all day, every day, with punters in a frenzy of colour and creativity. Paint flew, yarn bombed, sequins were sewn and things old and new were upcycled, transformed and exchanged.
The free workshops on offer gave punters the chance to create with some famous people including Patience from The Grates, Ben Lee, Dune Rats, Art vs Science, Lisa Mitchell, Alpine, Beci Orpin & Art Park.
Check out Frankie Magazine’s WRAP UP OF SPLENDOUR IN THE CRAFT HERE.
FOR THE LOVE OF MUSIC... RED BULL MUSIC ACADEMY
On top of all the other music on offer this year, the Red Bull Music Academy decided to celebrate its 15-year anniversary at Splendour 2013, bringing an all-star lineup and their very own stage to entertain festival-goers!
It was a true privilege to have the likes of Maurice Fulton, Waajeed, Charles Murdoch and ‘the don’ Rick Wilhite performing on the Academy's stage and this was not lost on the people that swarmed into the tent over Splendour weekend.
SPLENDOUR FORUM, JULIAN ASSANGE ADDRESS
As always, the Splendour Forum had a great menu of brain food available to punters. From John Safran on secularism to Ben Lee on hallucinogenics, there was no shortage of a completely different brand of entertainment for the Splendour audience.
Perhaps the most important panel was the debate titled 'Can we trust the media?', moderated by Connectweb CEO Hugh Martin and with a special address from WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. This is a particularly salient topic this year and a timely lead-up to the Federal Election, as Julian Assange is running for the Senate as a representative of the new WikiLeaks party.
CLICK HERE to watch Julian Assange’s address, filmed specifically for this debate at the Splendour Forum from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.
SUNDAY SURPRISE = LORDE!
Ever-rising star, Lorde was a last-minute addition to Splendour Sunday. While there was no doubt she would impress, no one was prepared for the incredible presence she brought to the stage. An estimated two thirds of the festival descended on the Splendour’s Supertop to see the New Zealand songstress and look on in awe as the 16 year-old delivered a truly ‘royal’ performance.
Following her performance at Splendour, Lorde has gone on to be the first woman in 17 years to top the US Alternative Billboard Charts and has announced the launch of her debut EP ‘Pure Heroine’ set to drop in September and an upcoming Australian tour.
TREE PLANTING... LET THERE BE LIFE
There were many ways we celebrated the first year at our beautiful new home North Byron Parklands. Perhaps one of the most important was our tree-planting session on a fragmented patch of native bush land in the campground that was in need of some rehabilitative planting.
This was one of our most rewarding environmental initiatives this year as we achieved what is always one of our main goals - encouraging audience participation! Campers rose and shone on Splendour Saturday and made their way to the northern part of the campground to leave their mark on North Byron Parklands by planting their very own native tree.
ONLY LEAVE YOUR FOOTPRINTS... SPLENDOUR DONATIONS
Footprints weren’t all that were left on the grounds of our beautiful new home. Hundreds of those tried and true, essential pieces of Splendour foot fashion, the humble gumboot were left strewn about North Byron Parklands.
What to do with the mountain of the rubber foot savers that were discarded upon exiting the festival? Pair them up, clean them up and pass them on to a good cause! Along with the hundreds of pairs of gumboots, there were also tents, camping chairs and many other miscellaneous items left behind by our campers that were donated to the following community organisations: St. Vinnies Byron Bay, Murwillumbah High School, Byron Bay Boardriders and the Byron Bay Scouts.
SPLENDOUR GRANTS, KEEPING THINGS RECIPROCAL
Each year Splendour in the Grass gives something back to the community. This year, the festival’s long tradition of providing grants to their host community starts a new chapter that goes hand in hand with moving to North Byron Parklands.
Going forward, along with each year’s Splendour In The Grass festival, any event held at North Byron Parklands will give community grants. 'It is only appropriate that we give back', said Splendour in the Grass organiser Jessica Ducrou, 'We acknowledge that not everybody benefits from events'.
This year Splendour in the Grass and North Byron Parklands granted a total of $25,000, distributed amongst the following community organisations: WIRES, Shores United Soccer Club, Tidy Towns Ocean Shores, Ocean Shores Primary School, Crabbes Creek Primary School, The Pocket Primary School, Brunswick Heads Primary School.
SAE, GIVING OUR LOCAL STUDENTS A GO
SAE was super excited to provide skilled audio and film students behind the scenes at Splendour this year. SAE provides world leading creative media courses covering animation, audio, design, film, games, web and mobile. Visit them at www.sae.edu.au and be inspired.
HOW TO DO A FESTIVAL IN STYLE, WITH CONTIKI
Those Contiki cats sure know how to do Splendour! Their cozy campsite came with a vintage lounge-room and steaming hot breakfast every morning, while their hostel crew travelled by luxury coach every day. For more top-notch tours like these, check out www.contiki.com.au

Friday 30 August 2013
Channel [V] spent three beautiful days at North Byron Parklands, finding out what our favourite artists love about one of Australia's favourite festivals.
Sunday 28 July 2013
The thirteenth annual Splendour In The Grass held one massive house warming party at North Byron Parklands this weekend, delivering three big days of music, art, craft, debate and discussion, fantastic food, markets and merriment.
An epic lineup of over 80 acts from Australia and abroad played to a capacity crowd of 25,000 people each day.
There were a few teething problems with the new site including some external issues with the bus services. After 6 months of continual wet weather in the lead up to the show, on Thursday night the heavens opened again just as a surge of campers arrived to enter the site. The meeting of these two events resulted in traffic and an uncomfortable set up for some of our campers.
However! Once everyone was in the site it was one hell of an awesome time! 25,000 music and arts fans truly made the most of all that was on offer.
On Friday Deap Vally belted out a monster set of power rock, Haim totally owned their mid afternoon spot on the bill, Daughter were off the hook, Flight Facilities held the huge crowd at Mix-Up Stage transfixed, Babyshambles played a killer set of old and new tracks to an enthusiastic crowd and Mumford & Sons brought the night to a climax with one gigantic sing-a-long.
On Saturday Splendour audiences were treated to a diverse lineup of acts including Palma Violets, Cloud Control, Birds Of Tokyo, MS MR, Empire Of The Sun, the Polyphonic Spree doing The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Jake Bugg, an incredibly talented young man with a big future ahead of him. The National closed The Supertop on Saturday night with a mighty closing set that saw singer Matt Berninger jump from the stage and through the crowd, never missing a beat.
On Saturday there was also a wedding! Mahalia and Matthew said I do on the grassy knoll overlooking the campground, surrounded by their family, friends and 25 000 like minded music lovers.
After Frank Ocean was forced to pull out due to illness, the lineup was boosted by the addition of Kiwi songstress of the moment Lorde. All later acts on the Supertop were moved forward shifting Of Monsters and Men into the headlining position and they smashed it all the way back to Iceland!
Other stand out Sunday performances included FIDLAR, Snakadaktal, Airbourne (rock is not dead!) ALT J, James Blake, Gurrumul and the mighty You Am I, who delivered a scorching set, finished off with Berlin Chair.
Alongside the music, Splendour punters converged on the various destination spaces. They did workshops at Splendour In The Craft, sang their hearts out at Miss Saigon Karoake, foraged at the many food and market stalls, did yoga, interacted with visual and performance artists and listened to lively discussion at the Splendour Forum.
Co-producers Jessica Ducrou and Paul Piticco said “We’re so happy that we finally got to our dream home and so many of you came to celebrate with us. For those of you who were so patient when arriving we thank you. We promise to get the kinks out for 2014. Thanks for coming, we had an awesome time and there were just too many highlights to mention. The music, the food, the art, the activities and most of all YOU GUYS made it a weekend to remember.”
Saturday 27 July 2013
Sometimes things happen for a reason…
Splendour in the Grass is excited to announce the addition of Lorde to the 2013 lineup.
Lorde, the artist on everybody's playlist right this moment, is heading to Australia for a very special performance at Splendour In The Grass and her Sunday afternoon set is sure to be an unexpected highlight of the festival.
The 16 year old impressed everyone on her sold-out, exclusive club performances in Sydney and Melbourne recently and this will be the first time that many will get to see this star in the making.
Lorde will appear at 5.30pm on Sunday night, with all other acts scheduled to appear on the Supertop moving up a slot. Of Monsters And Men will be performing in the headline slot instead of Frank Ocean, whose cancellation was announced yesterday.
Friday 26 July 2013
With Splendour already in full swing we are absolutely devastated to relay the news that Frank Ocean has had to cancel all of his remaining Australian dates, including Splendour in the Grass, due to illness.
"We are totally gutted that Frank can't make it and we know that many of our patrons will be just as disappointed as we are. We do want to remind everyone that over 70 of the best acts in the world right now are still here and ready to go including our previously billed mystery band, ALT-J. Our sympathies go to Frank for his illness and also because he's about to miss the best party of the year."
Information provided by the band's Australian tour promoter, Live Nation, stated that Frank incurred a small tear to one of his vocal chords at the show last night. The medical advice he received was that if he continued to sing, permanent damage could occur.
Frank Ocean has cancelled all of his remaining tour dates. Please see Live Nation for details about those shows.

FOR YOUR SAFETY
We’re all looking forward to the fun and celebration in store at SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS 2013, but there is also a serious side to any large gathering so please take the time to read the following information. It’s also worth reading what’s printed on the front and back of your ticket.
First up, the answer to the FAQ of the moment: Yes, bring your gumboots. Some showers are forecast for the next few days. Temperatures ranging from around 19 degrees max to 12-14 minimum are forecast.
POLICE AND SECURITY
The festival is a large town in its own right and a town needs policing. Authorities have been working with organisers to ensure your time at the festival is safe and enjoyable. Police and security will both be present on site. Drug detection dogs will be at the festival. Police random breath testing units will also be active on local roads.
We recommend event-only patrons stay on site for a while after the main stages finish to avoid a mass exodus. Restaurants and food stalls will be open until 2am Friday to Sunday and there will be late night entertainment on offer in the Tipi Forest, the Global Village, the Smirnoff Cocktail Bar, the Red Bull Music Academy and the Mexican Cantina.
Anyone caught trying to fence jump or enter the venue unlawfully faces arrest and a hefty fine. Fence jumping is trespassing and offenders will be taken to the on-site Police Station.
The possession, sale or use of illicit drugs or substances is strictly prohibited. Any persons found with them in their possession will be subject to police action and will be evicted from the festival.
Event-only patrons are not allowed to enter the campground. Any event-only patrons found in that area risks being evicted from the festival.
Stage diving, crowd surfing and moshing are prohibited. Those attempting such activities will be evicted. Aggressive behaviour is rare at Splendour, but anyone who does behave in a threatening or inappropriate manner towards other patrons or event staff will be removed from the festival.
FIRST AID & HEALTH
Our comprehensive health service will include on-site doctors, paramedics and a chill out area. The main Medical Centre is located just inside the entry gates and across from the General Store. First Aid Stations are also located near the Supertop and near Entry 2 near the Global Village.
There will be a PATRON SAFETY HOTLINE that those at the festival can call regarding safety, medical or security matters. This number will be on display around the site. There is also a printable map of the campground here.
If you require first aid or assistance please either make your way to a first aid station, speak to the nearest security guard who can make radio contact with the medical team, or call the Patron Safety Hotline.
Proper footwear is required. Minor foot injuries to those with bare feet or wearing thongs take up too much of our first aid team’s time. BYO back-up band-aids and analgesics.
Please remember to drink lots of water throughout the day. EMPTY plastic (no glass) bottles of water or soft drink can be brought into the entertainment precinct. You can get refills from water taps on site or in the bars.
A breathalyser service to allow drivers to get an indication of their blood alcohol content will be on site at the Byron Youth Service ‘Cringe the Binge’ stall near Festival Entry 1. Don’t drive if you’re tired or intoxicated. Organise a designated driver or catch a bus instead.
No smoking is permitted within enclosed eating and food preparation areas, bar areas, tents and stalls as required by the Tobacco Act 2008. It is illegal to smoke within and 4 meters from the entrance to a tent venue.
RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL
The responsible service of alcohol is integral to providing an enjoyable, safe event for all patrons and staff. Liquor will not be supplied to disorderly or intoxicated patrons or to anyone who is under 18 years of age or who does not have the requisite ID.
The festival is a licensed area and you will need to show ID to purchase alcohol. Only the following forms of ID are acceptable:
- Australian Drivers License
- Government Issued Proof of Age Card
- International Drivers License (must contain a photograph)
Please note that the following measures are necessary as part of the compliance required by the festival under liquor licensing laws:
- No alcohol can be brought into the festival site or carpark
- The campground is also a No Alcohol area.
- All patrons are subject to bag searches. Your co-operation is appreciated. Please see the full list of banned items at splendourinthegrass.com
- Any banned items found during searches will be confiscated.
- The organiser reserves the right to refuse admission to any person who shows signs of being affected by alcohol or drugs.
- Alcohol cannot be brought onto or consumed on buses travelling to and from the festival.
Any minors found in possession of alcohol will be removed from the festival and will be subject to police action, as will those who procured the alcohol for them. As per Splendour’s Youth Policy, those aged 15 or under must be accompanied at all times by a parent or responsible adult.
Don’t forget to pace yourself, especially if you’re driving. There is a large variety of non-alcoholic beverages and food options available across the festival site.
Campfires are NOT permitted in the campground by agreement between the festival and fire authorities. Anyone lighting a fire will be ejected from the festival. This includes fireworks, flares or fire twirling. There will be supervised communal bonfires at a few locations throughout the campgrounds & event area (which also has mushroom heaters).

Those of you catching a bus TO the festival who DIDN’T pre-purchase your bus tickets from Moshtix FOR zone 1 & zone 2 travel may now pay cash on boarding. Departing the site, if you don't have a pre-purchased ticket for these areas, you'll need to buy a ticket from the sales office in the bus area.
We ask that those paying cash on buses heading to the site please show a bit of courtesy and allow anyone bearing pre-purchased bus tickets to board buses first as this will enable faster boarding and movement of buses. We extend our thanks to those who purchased bus tickets in advance as this has allowed us to provide bus services according to demand in the various areas covered by the network.
Shuttles servicing Ocean Shores/South Golden Beach, Brunswick Heads or Mullumbimby are $5 walk-up and do not require hard tickets.
No alcohol allowed on buses.
There is a different arrangement for bus tickets for Country Clubbers – please email email@example.com
Please drive carefully on site and observe internal speed limits. On the highway, take regular breaks. Take care on local roads. Do not enter or leave the venue on foot. Those riding pushbikes should leave them in the storage area in the southern carpark and proceed on foot to and from the festival.
RESPECT OUR NEIGHBOURS
Splendour provides a huge economic and cultural boost to Byron Shire, but as responsible members of this community we also need to mitigate the impacts of the event on the local area. Please show some consideration by following these tips:
- Respect the local community and environment.
- Do not enter or attempt to camp in the nearby nature reserve. Penalties apply.
- Do not camp in or around your vehicle on nearby roadsides, parking lots etc. Council rangers will be on the lookout for illegal camping or people sleeping in cars. Maximum penalty exceeds $1,000.
- Do NOT park on nearby roadsides. Fines apply for illegal parking.
- If walking in residential areas, please keep the noise down.
- Use your accommodation as a place to sleep, NOT to party. Your neighbours need to rest.
- Do not litter – use trash cans or hold onto it until you find a bin.
- Please use public toilets. When travelling to and from the festival plan ahead so you don’t get caught short.
- Avoid the centre of Byron Bay late at night – there isn’t much open, there is no public transport (other than festival buses) and taxis are in short supply.
- Please bring photo ID that corresponds with the name and date of birth printed on your ticket as both must be presented for admission.
- Prepare to be searched upon entry (including bags). Unfortunately we need to do this and your co-operation is appreciated. Please see these lists of items banned in the campground and inside the event area.
- Campers remember you’re not able to park your car next to your tent this year. Please follow the directions of our staff to the campground carparking area.
- Stage diving, crowd surfing and moshing are prohibited. Those attempting such activities risk being evicted.
- You are expected to wear your event wristband for the entire festival. This is your pass in and out of the festival.
- Patrons must not damage flora and fauna or enter any on-site bodies of water.
- BIN IT! Help keep your festival litter free. Do not drop cigarette butts on the ground.
Drinking responsibly and having a great festival experience can go together. The Australian Government will be touring the Be the Influence – Be a Legend campaign at this year’s Splendour to give you the tools to make positive changes to your drinking patterns and encourage your friends to do the same. tacklingbingedrinking.gov.au
Thanks for reading this - we’re looking forward to seeing you at SPLENDOUR 2013!

DIDN'T GET YOUR BUS TICKET ONLINE? PLEASE READ THIS.
We have some information for those of you who didn't purchase bus tickets online before sales ended. This relates to travel from locations in the Zone 1 and Zone 2 areas as outlined here It does not relate to the shuttles servicing Ocean Shores/South Golden Beach, Brunswick Heads or Mullumbimy which are $5 walk-up and did not require online pre-purchase.
The wheels on the bus go round and round.
Hey, it seems more than a few of you didn't get your bus tickets online before sales closed…which may in part have been due to a boo-boo by us with some wrong website info stating sales didn't end until Saturday.
As a result we have decided to allow cash payment on buses travelling TO the site from these locations. Departing the site, if you don't have a pre-purchased ticket, you'll need to get a ticket from the sales office in the bus area.
We ask that those paying cash on buses heading to the site please show a bit of courtesy and allow anyone bearing tickets to board buses first as this will enable faster boarding and movement of buses.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CAMPERS
If you’re the bearer of a Splendour in the Grass 2013 camping ticket, then we have some handy tips for you. To be fully informed please also read the information on the front and rear of your camping ticket.
The Splendour campground at North Byron Parklands, on Tweed Valley Way, Yelgun/Wooyung, opens at 10am on Wednesday 24 July – please do not arrive before this time and then only arrive (if you’re driving) on the day specified on your Campground Vehicle Entry Pass (CVEP).
On Wednesday campers can arrive between 10am-1am and from Thursday between 7am-1am. All campers to depart by 2pm Monday 29 July.
Don’t forget your camping ticket! It’s separate to your festival entry ticket and every camper must have one, as well as photo ID matching the name and date of birth printed on the ticket.
If you’re driving, it’s important that you travel light and have the appropriate Campground Vehicle Entrance Pass. Please car-pool if possible. Large camping setups are not permitted. No couches or other large items allowed!!
Please place your Campground Vehicle Entry Pass (CVEP) on the driver’s side dashboard so our staff can see it as you enter the venue and proceed to the campground entry gates where it will be scanned. Please note Passbook cannot be used for CVEP as we need the “visual” of the PDF print-out on approach.
As you know, due to the prolonged wet weather this year we have had to make the tough decision to separate cars from tents within the campground. This decision was not made lightly and while we realise it has caused inconvenience for some of you, we feel that the reason for the decision will become clearer when you're on site and can see for yourself why one area is better for tents and the other area is better for vehicle parking.
We also ask that you appreciate that we know the site characteristics best and respect that we have made a decision that is in the best interest of you, our patrons, as well as the land itself. We understand that this may not be ideal for everyone, however we feel our approach will provide a tidier, safer site and a better end result and experience for everyone.
The parking area for campers is beside the campground. After parking, campers will need to walk their gear to their campsite, so make sure you bring only what you need. Please follow internal signage and the directions of staff to your parking spot and from there to your campsite. We apologise for any inconvenience and request that you cooperate with our staff.
A further bit of clarification for those bringing vans, campervans, caravans, camper-trailers, station wagons and other vehicles designed for sleeping in who want to camp in a group with friends in tents. There will be an area set aside in the campground called the "Trailer Park" where such vehicles will be able to set-up. Your mates with tents can camp in that area too once they have parked their cars in the carpark, HOWEVER please note if you want to camp together then you MUST arrive together. Van campers cannot save space for tent friends coming later.
Arriving and Departing
Expect some delays when arriving and departing as a lot of vehicles will be trying to get in and out of the campground at the same time. Please be patient and work with our staff and volunteers to get everyone in and out safely and efficiently.
Vehicles Cannot Be Moved
Once parked, your vehicle should not be moved again until you depart the festival. Those with vehicles in the campground parking area can come and go to their car as often as necessary to charge phones, store valuables or even use the rear-view mirror for make-up application.
Shuttle buses will run between the festival and Ocean Shores/South Golden Beach, Brunswick Heads and Mullumbimby. Fares for these shuttles will be $5 each way payable upon boarding the bus.
Limited scheduled services will be available from Byron Bay, Ballina/Lennox Head, Bangalow, along the Tweed Coast and also from Coolangatta/Tweed. Pre-purchases for these scheduled services via moshtix.com.au END TONIGHT!!
Airport shuttles from Ballina-Byron and Gold Coast Airports are provided by other shuttle operators http://splendourinthegrass.com/getting-there.html
Byron Taxis (6685 5008) will also stop at a rank on site near the bus. Tweed Taxis will also be on site. Their vehicles will service areas north of North Byron Parklands tweedtaxis.com.au or phone 1300 656 818
The showers are free but please conserve water as the site is not connected to a town water supply. It is supplied from on-site tanks. Please restrict yourself to one short shower a day (or less if you wish!) and turn the water off when brushing your teeth.
Food & Supplies
There will be a number of yummy food options available 24 hours a day in the campground from Wednesday through to Monday. If you need other supplies, please shop for them before you arrive or you can hit up the General Store near Festival Entry 1 which will be stocked with ice, soft drinks, juice, chips, chocolate, water, bread, milk, bacon, eggs, breakfast cereal, toothpaste, shampoo , enviro-bags, condoms, tampons, clothes pegs, headache pills and more

We’re all pretty excited about our new home. It’s a beautiful venue in picturesque surroundings that will shine on for years to come. In keeping with such a long term vision we have numerous environmental programs and procedures in place to minimise our environmental impact. To complement our enviro team’s hard work we would like you all to participate in ethical environmental practices during your festival experience. You can do so by doing the following.
Most importantly, please do not litter under any circumstances. Separate your rubbish and recycling and make use of our two bin system (identical to your bins at home) and please take what you bring to the festival home with you to use again. Oh, and be sure to show our Green Chiefs and Green Team members some love as they move through the campground helping to keep our waste systems under control.

2013 SPLENDOUR BUSKERS STAGE
The Buskers Stage is back this year at Splendour in the Grass, showcasing some of the Far North Coast's finest local busking talent. The stage debuted at the festival last year as part of our welcome home to Byron and now that we are home for good it is here to stay. Aimed at giving buskers you might encounter on the streets of Byron Bay, community events, markets or seaside shindigs the chance to entertain the crowd at Splendour, the Buskers Stage is an ode to the Rainbow Region and a nod to the area's reputation as one of Australia's biggest music hubs.
This year the stage will be headlined by some favourites from last year, Garrett Kato and the Mojo Bluesmen, who will provide inspiration to our fresh lineup of aspiring musos handpicked for Splendour 2013. Last year the Buskers Stage reminded us how good it was to be home when they welcomed us into the festival each day, and this year they will remind us we are home and here to stay.

Splendour Forum is proud to present the first public screening of The Sunnyboy since the film’s premiere at Sydney Film Festival. The film follows 50-year-old Jeremy Oxley, the enigmatic front man of ‘80s band The Sunnyboys, as he emerges from a 30-year battle with schizophrenia. An enlightening exploration of one man’s experience of a misunderstood and stigmatised condition, The Sunnyboy is an inspiring story of hope, survival and the healing power of unconditional love. Attending the screening will be the film’s Director, Kaye Harrison, Jeremy’s brother and bandmate Peter Oxley and Jeremy’s wife Mary Oxley Griffiths for an interview and audience Q&A after the film with award-winning journalist Monique Schafter (Hungry Beast, 7.30 Report).

Broadcaster, documentarian and comedian John Safran presents the inaugural Splendour edition of The School of Life’s Secular Sermon, on the topic of “Unrest”.
The School of Life is a cultural enterprise offering good ideas for everyday life. Founded in Central London in 2008 by writer and philosopher Alain de Botton and soon to open in Australia, it offers programs addressing everyday philosophical questions. In this Secular Sermon John Safran infiltrates a secret world of agitation and unrest to present his findings. Staying true to genre, the sermon will be introduced by a “secular hymn” performed by singer/songwriter Nadav Kahn (Gelbison, Kahn Brothers).
Comedy: A RATIONAL FEAR
Saturday 27 July, 3:00 – 4:00pm
A fast-paced topical comedy panel show, A Rational Fear has been described as being “like Q&A on speed” or an Australian version of Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show. Featuring Australia’s funniest satirists, ARF is 60 minutes of cutting-edge comedy with a social and political bite. Usually recorded live in Sydney for Radio National and FBi, writer and producer Dan Ilic (Hungry Beast, Can of Worms) will take the stage with comedian/actor/writer Dave O’Neil (Randling, Spicks & Specks, Tractor Monkeys), comedian Michael Hing (Project 52), writer/comedian Alice Fraser (Aggressively Helpful), writer/comedian Zoe Norton Lodge (The Hamster Wheel, The Checkout), DJ Dylan Behan and a ‘special’ guest.

This is your opportunity to ask the leader of Australia’s third major political party why she and her colleagues should continue to hold the all-important balance of power in Federal Parliament, what it takes as a woman to lead a national political party in this country, and any other important questions you want answered - before we cast our ballots and decide Australia’s political future.

Prolific singer/songwriter Ben Lee’s latest album, Ayahuasca: Welcome To The Work, is dedicated to the South American hallucinogenic plant medicine he credits with inspiring his most recent spiritual and musical journey. Triple j’s Lindsay "The Doctor" McDougall hosts a panel of artists including Ben Lee, Australian rock royalty Dave Graney and Clare Moore (The Moodists, Dave Graney & The Coral Snakes) who co-wrote an album called Hashish & Alcohol, Scott Owen (The Living End), singer/songwriter Lisa Mitchell, Nadav Kahn (Gelbison, Kahn Brothers), writer/filmmaker Rak Razaman (Aya Awakenings) and Sydney/Bond University neuroscientist Professor Bulent Turman, as we explore altered states of consciousness - whether they be via mind-altering substances, meditation or other spiritual means - as a catalyst for creativity.
Debate: “CAN WE TRUST THE MEDIA?”
Friday 26 July, 2.30 – 4.00pm
The media is undergoing change on the scale of an industrial revolution. Worldwide, newspapers - the traditional bastions of truth and the public’s right to know - are being cannibalised by free internet publications. Former Fairfax online editor Hugh Martin moderates two teams of media experts including: advertising guru-turned Ten Network boss Russel Howcroft (Gruen Transfer); a special appearance from WikiLeaks’ editor-in-chief and Victorian Senate candidate Julian Assange (from his base in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London); writer and ABC broadcaster Dominic Knight (The Chaser); social and political satirist Dan Ilic (Hungry Beast, Can of Worms); online journalist and media commentator Andrew Crook (Crikey.com.au); and writer/comedian/former lawyer Alice Fraser, as they go head-to-head debating the crucial question: Can We Trust The Media?

Always a Splendour favourite, this year’s Women of Letters’ guests include Tim Rogers (You Am I), Dave Graney and Clare Moore (The Moodists, Dave Graney & The Coral Snakes), Lisa Mitchell, Heidi Lenffer (Cloud Control) and Phoebe Baker (Alpine). Please join them in this lovely literary salon as each artist narrates his or her own “Letter to the Song They Wish They’d Written” and invites the audience to pen their own.
Discussion panel: SONGWRITERS SPEAK – presented by APRA
Friday 26 July, 1.00 – 2.00pm
Three Australian songwriters, Sarah Blasko, Kram (Spiderbait) and a ‘special guest’ chat to Walkley Award-winning journalist Monique Schafter (Hungry Beast, 7.30 Report) about their musical influences, lyrical inspirations and the songwriting craft. Join them for some audience Q&A and maybe even a song or two, in the annual Splendour edition of this intimate musical conversation.
Comedy: STORY CLUB
Sunday 28 July, 2.30 – 4:00pm
Think stand-up comedy, except sitting down - in a cosy armchair and reading from a giant book. Story Club’s co-creators, writer/comedians and The Chaser protégés Zoe Norton Lodge and Ben Jenkins, pick a theme and invite other clever and funny raconteurs to tell a true story about it. Appearing for your pleasure, comedian/ actor/writer Dave O’Neil (Randling, Spicks & Specks, Tractor Monkeys), broadcaster and comedian Tom Ballard (triple j breakfast), TV presenter Kirsten Drysdale (Hungry Beast, The Checkout) and musician Hugo Gruzman (Flight Facilities), for the inaugural Splendour edition of this new take on the ancient art of storytelling.

CHANGES TO SPLENDOUR CAMPING
As we all prepare for the main event on the winter music calendar, Splendour In The Grass 2013, we have some important information for those of you who are camping at the show this year.
As we look out for you over the weekend, your safety is our first priority. In light of the prolonged, unfavourable weather conditions around Byron Bay and in order to offer patrons the most comfortable and safest camping experience possible, we’ve had to make a call on how we roll out the camping at Splendour this year.
While in the past you’ve been able to park your vehicle next to your tent, this year we will be following the camping set up implemented by some overseas festivals that feature camping on-site, such as Glastonbury, Fuji Rock, T On the Park and Roskilde.
Campers will park their vehicles in the camping car park adjacent to the campground. They will then walk - up to a few hundred metres - with their gear to their camping space. This will lessen the impact on the earth in the camping spaces and avoid the kind of damage to the ground that vehicles inevitably cause.
We know this is a change to previous advice regarding camping with vehicles. We apologise for any inconvenience, but request that you please roll with it in true camping spirit and make the most of your weekend home.
Over the next couple of days we ask you to think about your camping set up and how you can make it as efficient as possible. Talk to your mates and make a plan for how your own campsite will work.
Travel light and it’ll be alright! The idea here is to keep your kit simple, with just the essentials you’ll need for a comfortable stay. Are you bringing a campervan or caravan to the show? Don’t worry. We’ll have space allocated for vans.
For a super easy Splendour camping experience you could always book into TENT CITY or TEPEE LIFE. Arrive on site, park your car and head over to your already set up tent ‘hotel’ or tepee! Too easy.
Keep in mind that there are food stalls in the campground and they’re open around the clock. They’ll have something delicious and nutritious before you go to bed and they’ll have something tasty to get you moving in the morning - and of course the all important coffee to get the blood pumping! Open 24 hours from Wednesday morning until Monday afternoon.
The General Store will also be up and running, fully stocked from Wednesday.
And in other news, we will not be charging for showers in the campground as previously advised. However, as there is no town water supply at the site it is important that you keep your free shower brief.

In 2013 Splendour in the Grass is saying good-bye to wristbands of the past and hello to advanced radio frequency identification (RFID) tags. In an Australian first, Splendour will partner with technology pioneers Intellitix to transform the festival experience and launch a new era of festival accreditation in this country.
Standard wristbands will become a thing of the past as Splendour will adopt the latest in smart technology - wireless identification microchips.
Intellitix is the global leader in RFID for live events, and has developed the technology which provides fraud-proof, fast and secure access control systems, and a host of interactive possibilities for fans.
"Splendour In The Grass is thrilled to be partnering with Intellitix on their first roll-out of RFID technology in the Australian festival market. The intelligent system aligns with our philosophy of always aiming to provide new and enhanced experiences for our ticket holders", say Splendour Co-Producers Jessica Ducrou and Paul Piticco. "The newer, smarter Splendour wristbands will have some awesome social media integration capabilities."
These high-functioning devices embedded in all Splendour wristbands will provide a direct hook-up to social media, if the punter chooses to opt in.
RFID wristband technology enables festival goers to instantly check in via Facebook, share festival experiences by updating their Facebook status, post live music updates at custom-built Live Click Stations around the festival site.
As an extension to the RFID experience, Deezer will also be delivering a first to market opportunity for Australian festival goers. Deezer will be giving each registered RFID attendee the chance to relive their festival journey by delivering customised music content based around the artists they saw each day. These playlists will be delivered directly to the attendee in an email and will be determined by the stages they check-in to. This will be the first time an Australian festival and streaming music service have developed content based around the individual experience of each attendee. To opt-in, festival goers need to subscribe to Deezer for free or link their existing account during their RFID Registration to receive a tailored music profile.
Ticket holders can register at: rfidreg.splendourinthegrass.com
“Splendour In The Grass is renowned for its progressive and innovative approach to events and I’m thrilled that Intellitix will play a part in this next step forward,” says CEO Serge Grimaux. “For the fan, this means new ways to interact and have fun at festivals, concerts and events, as well as fast and secure entry into events.”
Intellitix has successfully activated 3.5 million RFID chips at some of the largest music festivals in the world including Coachella, Bonnaroo and Tomorrowland. The innovative technology looks to revolutionise the Australian live festival and music market.
RFID is a dramatic shift forward for the music festival world!

SPLENDOUR ARTS &
Sew & Tell presents SPLENDOUR IN THE CRAFT
Splendour In The Grass – a monumental music festival, a 660 acre art gallery and now, from 26 – 28 July, also set to become the centre of the craft universe! Art and craft, they go together like glue and glitter. Yes?
Each year since the event's inception Splendour has searched near and far to produce an Arts Program to engage, amuse, bemuse and always enhance the Splendour experience. This year is set to follow suit, with SPLENDOUR ARTS 2013 serving up a bumper program from Australian and international artists that includes performance, improvisation, street theatre, graffiti, living sculpture, installation, illustration, projection and... chocolate records.
SPLENDOUR ARTS programmer Craig Walsh said "This year Splendour's Arts program spans the spectrum, taking the audience from big and bold pieces like Bennett Millers Barnraiser to intimate and interactive work like Julia Drouhin's Disco Ghost where punters literally digest the music."
Never content to rest on their patch-worked laurels, in 2013 Splendour is taking things a step further, encouraging punters themselves to get creative at a new space, SPLENDOUR IN THE CRAFT.
From 11am to 6pm each day Splendour In The Craft will feature an awesome program of free workshops and activities to entice punters to get their craft on!
Spotlight, Australia's largest fabric and craft retailer is synonymous with all things crafty, so being a part of Splendour in the Craft was a natural fit! Each day Spotlight will be hosting the 'Spotlight Sessions', working with Splendour goers to Pimp Their Tent or make their own tote bags and featuring craft stars like Beci Orpin.
There'll also be some super awesome workshops and guest 'crafters' from Splendour lineups present and past at frankie magazine's Crafternoon Bandcamp sessions!
You'll be able to get your mending done at the Mend It Like Beckham stall, presented by Spotlight. There'll be treasure hunt trunks, frock swaps, magazine and project libraries, postcard tarot readings and more. And to keep you energized Southside Tea Room – the awesome Brisbane café run by Patience and John of The Grates - will be ready to craft you up all the tea and coffee you need!
Splendour In The Craft is proudly supported by:
Check the website for Splendour in the Craft program details as they develop and register your interest for workshops! Frock n roll!
Without further ado, Splendour In The Grass is proud to showcase the 2013 Arts Program.
Tent of Miracles - The People vs. The Tent of Miracles
We, The People, have been slapped with a charge of Gross Public Indecency and subpoenaed to appear before the High Supreme Court to plead our case. Who will face up to the charges and throw themselves at the mercy of the court in the case of The People vs. the Tent of Miracles. All rise for the Honorable Judge Mentle! The People vs. The Tent of Miracles is a confronting parody of the justice system in the space of an interactive festival playground… where anything goes!
Performance and installation artist, Andy Forbes, has performed and directed shows for Splendour in the Grass since 2002. Using improvised theatre, video, sculpture and music, Andy captures the spontaneity and alchemy that occurs between artist and audience. Raw comedy blends with satire to parody popular culture through circus, freak show arts and religious cults.
Tent of Miracles - The People vs. The Tent of Miracles
Barnraiser – Bennett Miller
Expect to encounter a community of a very productive, righteous people. For the duration of the festival this community will go about their own business, oblivious to those around them, demonstrating the virtues of plain living, creating a home for themselves within our new site, and raising a barn.
Artist Bennett Miller works across sculpture, installation and performance but for largescale outdoor festivals he develops 'living sculptures'. Barnraiser is such a work. Barnraiser was seeded out of the Splendid initiative, a program managed by Lismore Regional Gallery in collaboration with Splendour in the Grass. Funded by the Australia Council's Office of Young and Emerging Artists and supported by the NSW Government through Arts NSW.
Create a plan B - Sam Songailo
Are you miserable in life, dead broke, in a less than ideal relationship, under stress, is your life full of chaos and clutter or do you see no way out? This artwork will change all that. You will pass through a tunnel on your way into Splendour where your current life will be wiped clean. Visualise your perfect life. You need to believe. Are you a believer?
Melbourne-based artist Sam Songailo's installation takes reference from science fiction, technology, album art, electronic music and video clips, and encourages the mindset of play through intervention.

Murri - Reko Rennie
Reko Rennie is an interdisciplinary artist who explores his Aboriginal identity through contemporary mediums. Rennie's art incorporates his association to the Kamilaroi people, using traditional geometric patterning that represents his community. Through his art, Rennie provokes discussion surrounding Indigenous culture and identity in contemporary urban environments.
Rennie's work has been shown across the globe. An Archibald Prize Finalist, he has had solo exhibitions at SCOPE Art Fair in New York, commissioned to create a 35-metre art-piece by the Washington DC Arts and Humanities and produced a two-year public artwork, Neon Natives as part of the 2011 Melbourne Laneway Commission.
Murri - Reko Rennie - Always Was Always Will Be
Bus shelters - Vans the Omega
Last year Splendour the Grass saw James Dodd paint three old-school bus shelters. This year, the bus shelters are set for another artistic transformation.
Graffiti artist Vans the Omega will be scratching, buffing and creating a new masterpiece for this year's festival audience. A representation of design over time, new artists each year will be adding and subtracting to the work from the years before. Accumulated iterations of graffiti!
Vans the Omega has been creating and painting letterforms for over two decades. Most of his influences have come from ancient scripts, architecture, engineering, nature and the idea of movement or balance. Recognised for his attention to detail and search for perfection within letter structure, Vans the Omega's technique will be in the Splendour spotlight this year.
Bus Shelters - Vans the Omega
Statements - Stefan Marx
Presented by Art Park Statements a collection of uniquely branded artwork and images by Stefan Marx will be projected onto Splendour's main Super-top tent. Visible at night and illuminated to the wee hours, the Big Top will become a canvas for Stefan's poignant black and white phrases and statements.
With a style described as a crossover between DIY culture and fine art, the Hamburg-based artist is deeply rooted in the skate scene with added inspiration from techno culture. Marx's slogans may seem comical at first, but ponder them longer and they reveal their full impact.
Disco ghost: Julia Drouhin
Presented by artist Julia Drouhin, Disco Ghost is an incantation in the memory of dead musicians with delicious chocolate records.
Strasbourg born Drouhin casts exact replica chocolate records, plays them until they wear out, breaks them up and offers them to listeners to eat. She invites the audience to play with food whilst listening to the voices of the dead... digesting their music, literally!
Julia has been presenting sound drifts, radiophonic creations, installations and performances across all continents since 2003.
Lollipop ladies: Roundabout Theatre
Roundabout Theatre presents Lollipop Ladies, a dynamic roving theatre show. With a unique style of visual comedy and playful absurdity the unfolding narratives of these skits entertain crowds of all ages. Think mischievous street theatre at its most impulsive!
Be led across randomly appearing zebra crossings, revolve around spontaneous roundabouts made of unsuspecting people, obey bizarre road signs (or suffer the consequences!) and make sure you don't step on the cracks! Issuing fines is a special pleasure for these ladies. Watch the comedy unfold with you in it ... crowd control at its most amusing!

NEW SITE, NEW YEAR, NEW GREEN INITIATIVES
Welcoming in a new year, with a new site, Splendour In The Grass is proud to unveil exciting new environmental initiatives! Splendour has often lead the way in the Australian music festival scene in adopting a strong emphasis on environmental awareness. Splendour is known for successfully undertaking innovative large-scale environmental procedures and green initiatives – and this year is no exception.
Greener Festival Award:
Proof positive of our great track record came last year when Splendour in the Grass was awarded the coveted Highly Commended Award from the international Greener Festival Awards guild.
Ben Challis, co-founder of A Greener Festival, said “This award embodies the spirit of sustainability that festivals all over the world aspire to achieve. However it is Splendour In The Grass that has gone above and beyond the commercial aspects of greening to produce a remarkable event with a true ecological awareness.”
This year the festival will set its sights higher, aiming to receive the Outstanding Award for 2013.
Here are some of the brand spanking new initiatives we have in store for 2013...
Food Waste Capture:
Splendour is constantly reflecting on how to develop programs to limit waste and increase the capacity to recycle. This year we’ve done just that!
Splendour will be collecting a back-of-house organic food waste stream from our food vendors and providing it to a local farmer as stock feed. Lucky stock! By doing this we are significantly reducing the amount of general waste that ends up in landfill.
In recognition of our wondrous new site located in one of the most naturally beautiful environments on the east coast of Australia, Splendour has developed a bush regeneration initiative in conjunction with local ecological experts which aims to encourage campers to participate in a tree planting activity.
Two separate native habitats located in the campground could benefit from a bit of bush regeneration to bridge the gap between the two forested areas. Festival campers keen to contribute to their beautiful surrounds can assist with planting the native bush blocks to ensure the green future of the festival. Those who volunteer will be armed with a truckload of native seedlings ready for planting. Stay tuned for details on how you can get involved in this great activity which in the decades to come will allow you to point to the trees you planted way back in 2013.
Other environmental initiatives that will make their return to Splendour in 2013 include…
In a festival first, Splendour will be collecting survey data from festival-goers that will provide insight into the Carbon Offset Program. So, if you come across one of our researchers - please make them feel loved and participate in a short survey!
A leader in the Australian music event industry when it comes to tackling carbon emissions, Splendour has developed innovative programs to deal with carbon emissions generated from both the production of the festival as well as emissions created by punters travelling to and from the event.
Splendour currently offsets 100% of all production related emissions that cannot be avoided or reduced. Splendour was also the first in Australia to offer a carbon offset ticket, which over the past five years alone has offset over 4,000 tonnes of carbon and resulted in over $100,000 being invested in renewable wind energy generation and forest protection initiatives.
The amount of carbon offset is roughly equivalent to taking 1,000 cars off our roads for a year. Nice work!
Partnering with Climate Friendly, Splendour offered patrons the opportunity to purchase a Carbon Offset Ticket that would offset the equivalent emissions of a 450km road trip based on an average sedan vehicle.
Traffic and carbon reduction:
As a way to reduce vehicles on local roads and inside the venue, anyone driving into North Byron Parklands for Splendour in the Grass must first pre-purchase a Vehicle Pass. These are for sale via moshtix.com.au . As a way of encouraging car-pooling, vehicles with a certain number of passengers can get a full refund on the cost of their parking pass. For vehicles entering the campground, have 3 or more ticket-holding campers in your vehicle and you can get your money back at the festival. For those using the venue carpark, arrive with 4 or more occupants and you get a refund on your Day Parking Pass cost. More details on the Splendour Website.
Splendour promotes car-pooling through both Jayride and Northern Rivers Carpool.
Back for the third year running, the Green Chiefs will be louder than ever! These out and proud Environmental Science students are hard to miss. Dressed in crazy costumes of their own choosing, they walk amongst the Splendour campsites showing punters how to recycle effectively and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill from their campsites. Together with our festival accommodation partner Tepee Life, the Green Chiefs will live and operate across the camping grounds.

The Green Team work on the front lines of waste reduction. These volunteers are tireless in pursuit of their mission to collect disposed items suitable for recycling. Donning high visibility vests, Splendour caps and armed with litter pickers, these guys and girls ensure that our awesome Splendour event area remains in tip top condition. Help them out by either doing the right thing or letting them past to collect recyclables nestling near your feet.
Our incredibly informative and hugely loveable Eco Cops are infamous to Splendour and will be patrolling inside the event area daily. These Environmental Science undergraduates hail from University of Queensland and Southern Cross and Griffith Universities. Big personalities with a wealth of information on all things environmental, these guys will be walking the grounds with a burning desire to chat to anyone who’s up for a low-down on the many environmental programs we have on offer this year.
Further information on all of Splendour’s environmental initiatives can be found on theSplendour Website.
Virgin Mobile wants you to nominate them for your chance to thank them with tickets for you both to go to Splendour In the Grass! After all, Virgin Mobile Australia believes one good turn deserves another!

Using one of our greatest human gifts, the ability to co-create, as a vehicle for sharing their message; whether it is deeply personal, sublimely divine, directly confronting or subversively unifying! The Global Village is a reflection of what is possible when each of us shares our unique gifts and strives to reach our full potential, in an environment that is welcoming and honouring of us all!

TRIPLE J UNEARTHED LAUNCH SPLENDOUR COMP
triple j Unearthed are giving one unsigned artist the chance to play on the mainstage of the sold-out Splendour in the Grass festival in July. The winning band can be from anywhere around the country, and will be flown to Byron Bay by triple j to open up the festival on Friday, July 26.
Three unsigned bands from the local area will also be invited to perform, appearing on the bill alongside the likes of Mumford and Sons, The National and Frank Ocean. Last year's unearthed winners were Melbourne rockers KINGSWOOD, who told triple j that opening up the festival was a career-shaping opportunity:
"We've pretty much been non-stop ever since," said the band's singer, Fergus Linnacre. "We got a lot of people's attention through that set, and we've been lucky enough to keep going and have a great year. Now we're heading into the studio in Nashville to record an album - hopefully you'll be able to hear the first single in September."

Gumtree has been cooperating with Splendour by removing Splendour ticket listings as they appear. To date there have been no Splendour tickets offered for sale on eBay.

Saturday 4 May 2013
Splendour In the Grass has noticed tickets for sale on online auction sites, predominantly Gumtree.
DO NOT BUY THESE TICKETS!! They CANNOT be transferred into your name by the seller.
Splendour tickets include the name and date of birth of the purchaser. This is checked against your ID at the festival gates. There is no facility in place that allows a ticketholder to change the name and date on a ticket and transfer it to another person.
Because it is apparent that many people intended to abuse any Reissue (aka ticket transfer) option we may have provided this year, we have decided NOT TO OFFER SUCH A REISSUE FACILITY for 2013. We introduced this facility in 2011 (alongside the existing Resale facility) and repeated it last year as a way of providing flexibility to patrons who could no longer attend but who had a person known to them to whom they could transfer their ticket.
This unfortunately opened a window for scalpers to on-sell a number of 2012 Splendour tickets at a premium. While we have always been anti-scalping, we felt that this downside was outweighed by providing a service to those who legitimately wanted to transfer their ticket to someone else. Unfortunately now it appears that the number of people intending to use this option to scalp tickets has increased to the point where it outweighs the positives provided to our patrons.
Splendour in the Grass wants you to pay the correct, advertised price for your ticket/s and not be exploited by those looking to capitalise on fans of the festival who may have missed out on getting a ticket.
Removing the reissue facility removes the opportunity for scalping.
It also stops the growing number of fraudsters offering non-existent “tickets” for sale which last year were bought by unsuspecting victims who never saw the ticket or their money ever again. We advised those caught out this way to contact Police. As the tickets were not bought through the official Moshtix system (as advised by Splendour), there was nothing else we could do to help them.
While we will NOT be providing a service whereby tickets can be transferred from one person to another, we will be offering the RESALE facility where unwanted tickets can be placed in a pool of tickets for resale to another party unknown to the original ticketholder. This ensures that those wanting to buy a ticket pay the correct, advertised price.
Please note this is not a direct refund system for unwanted tickets. The original holder of the ticket gets their money (less fees) back only when a third party purchases their ticket.
The RESALE facility will kick off via www.moshtix.com.au on June 5. More details soon.
Remember! You can only purchase legitimate Splendour tickets via our official ticketing provider, Moshtix. Do not buy tickets from unauthorised sellers.
Both Splendour in the Grass and Moshtix have written to Gumtree instructing them to remove any Splendour tickets. It is worth noting that there are no Splendour in the Grass tickets on eBay. They at least appear to have done their homework.

Thursday 2 May 2013
As you may have heard, all 3 day, single day and camping tickets to the 2013 SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS festival have completely sold out.
However, there's still a smattering of COUNTRY CLUB tickets remaining at moshtix.com.au, although we expect these to sell out in the next day or so. While the system laboured a little today under the huge demand for tickets, even with our increased capacity this year all single and three days tickets and camping tickets sold out in under an hour.
Event Producers, Jessica Ducrou and Paul Piticco said "What a perfect start for Splendour at our new home, North Byron Parklands! Our housewarming party is going to be awesome. Please don't bring a pot plant!"

One of Splendour’s most popular daytime spaces, the SPLENDOUR FORUM will once again discuss both the heavy and featherweight issues, and philosophical questions with a good deal of entertaining random banter thrown in!

So much goodness!
MISS SAIGON KARAOKE. We all know how this goes! It had to happen. Way overdue!
