Kidzklub Australia have curated a cracker of a line-up for Splendour’s littlest patrons, with heaps of activities, workshops, games and performances.
Get ready for some ‘untz untz’! Little Splendour’s Silent Disco returns for some ‘quiet’ clubbing. Presented by Playground Sounds, the young divas and dudes can unleash on the dance floor like no-one’s watching, all under disco lights and lasers. DJ Skool (presented by DJ Cory Fletcher) is back to offer up skillz workshop for anyone looking to improve their spinning skills! Head over for specially designed tutorial lessons for Splendour youngsters.
Little Splendour’s art and craft workshops are legendary and 2019 is no exception! Your little ones will go nuts at the Artie Fartie Partie! Unleash your inner Banksy and join with us to paint the fence that borders our magical Little Splendour space. For older kids, there will be workshops galore! The Heart Cart will be on hand to help you make rock and roll necklaces and boho, recycled denim bags. Make some groovy tie-dye with Aspiral Design and flower up our field with some amazing floral designs with Bower Botanicals. Farm Kids will keep the kids buzzing with workshops including how to make beeswax wraps and candles, flower essence bath bombs and how to grow an edible flower garden. There are weaving, puppet and crown making and a Poi (traditional Maori tool) workshops where you can make your own pair of contemporary poi. You can make your own unique beaded tree pendant and the incredible Australian Children’s Music Foundation will present musical instrument making!
There’s plenty of action outside the tent for those into climbing, jumping, bouncing and cubbies! For the active, adventure tykes, test your balance on the tight rope with the Slackline! Or have a crack at the brand-new giant 8 metre rock climbing wall! Your favourite jumping castles (including the Pirate Ship jumping castle) will return plus a new future fave – the giant Retro Obstacle Course jumping castle! Check out our Castle and Cubby Village where there will be even more cubbies to make outdoors fun! For lovers of the round ball and cool tricks, David and Dylan from the Trick Star Freestyle will wow with their fancy foot skills and ask for a quick lesson. Full-time face painting fairy Simone from Faces of Fairy face painting is looking forward to creating some painty magic!
Our Story Telling Tipi is with stories, fun dress ups, face painting and eco glitter. And guess what? The Fairies are taking over! The treasures from Fairy folk will deliver hands-on eco-friendly craft workshops and mini-mindfulness sessions. Circus Arts Byron Bay will present two amazeballs aerial shows Under the Sea and Allsorts Cabaret. Little Splendour fave Shorty Brown returns with Bubble Mayhem. Ballooning genius Tony Twist is back to hook children up with their own unique balloon creation to take home. Fiesta Creations will present beautiful roving stilt walkers and roving juggler extraordinaire. Art for Earthlings will return with their interactive roving performance and a new take on enviro education. Neptune is making waves for his real-life mermaids at Little Splendour as Fiesta Creations presents King Neptune’s Cove Photobooth! With visits from special guest mermaids, get ready to dive into this circus dream as Little Splendour sets a salty scene.
Be sure to keep an eye out for our friends from the Australian Children’s Music Foundation! They’ll be handing out stickers and running a music instrument making workshop (by donation) at Little Splendour. This not for profit organisation believes that every child, regardless of their background, deserves the right to enjoy the gift of music. We agree!
