Want to get hands-on at Australia’s best music festival? We’re searching for hard working people with a positive attitude to come on board as festival volunteers. Read on to learn more about being a special part of a weekend full of music and enjoy the benefits that come with volunteering.
Will I find out if I have a volunteer position before tickets go on sale?
We usually have more applicants than there are positions available, so not everyone who applies for a volunteer spot will get one.
What’s the criteria to be a volunteer and when should I apply?
For some roles, we are seeking people who have a genuine interest in the event industry and have had some experience in event work already. For other roles, your experience can be varied, as long as you have a strong work ethic and a good attitude. We want people who are flexible, who have initiative and who treat others with respect and kindness.
All workers and volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. We do not accept volunteers who are under 18.
If you believe you satisfy the criteria outlined, express your interest here!
What jobs do volunteers perform in return for a ticket and do I get free camping?
Event volunteer staff work shifts in the entry tents, internal traffic control, car park co-ordination, recycling, transport logistics etc, alongside paid personnel. Volunteers are required to do an average of 18-22 hours, in return for a full event ticket that does include camping for the week. These shifts start from the Tuesday before the festival until the Monday after the festival. You could be rostered at any point during this time. Please note, we don’t use volunteers for bars, ‘artist liaison’, production, publicity or admin. We don’t use any volunteers in backstage roles.
We also have what we call our Pre-fest Volunteer Program, which is a special opportunity for those that live locally to our festival site to volunteer for two full days of work in exchange for an event ticket that does not include camping. This is an exclusive opportunity for the local community. The volunteering is physical labour work supporting our site crew.
