Bar Work at Splendour

Looking for paid bar work at SITG2023? If you are trustworthy, reliable and hardworking with a current NSW RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol), we need you!

Splendour operates a number of bars in various locations across the North Byron Parklands site, each with different requirements and positions for all levels of experience from beginner to advanced.

When do I need to work?

Thursday 20 to Sunday 23 July. Days and shifts to be confirmed upon application acceptance.

What are the shift times?

We have 2 shifts per day – day/night. You will need to ensure you are available for both as rostering is done at random (although we try to ensure you get a mixture). Day shifts can begin as early as 11am and night shifts from 4pm, ending depending on the night shift change over time and the bar closing time.

What will I be paid?

You will be paid based on industry standard rates which will be provided in the application info. Access to the festival site is only allowed after completing your shift. You cannot access the festival prior to shift start times. Free camping (BYO gear – no vehicles) is provided in a bar worker allocated camping area which is separate to the ticket holders camp site.

What is an RSA?

A NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), is a legal training requirement for people working in a place that serves alcohol. You cannot apply to work with us without it.

More detailed info will be provided in the application process.

Applications for Bar Staff are now open, and expressions of interest can be directed to [email protected]

Be A Volunteer

Our Splendour Volunteer applications are now open!

Want to get hands-on at Australia’s best music festival? We’re searching for hard working people with a positive attitude to come on board as festival volunteers. Read on to learn more about being a special part of a weekend full of music and enjoy the benefits that come with volunteering.

Festival Event Volunteers must complete 18-22 hours in return for a festival ticket with camping included. They work shifts in the entry tents, internal traffic control, car park co-ordination, recycling, camping etc, alongside paid personnel.

Event volunteers MUST be available from TUESDAY 18 JULY up to and including MONDAY 24 JULY. This is because volunteers play an important part in the arrival and departure operations for everyone attending the festival.

If you are a local resident, you could also volunteer in our Pre-fest Volunteer Program. Pre-fest Volunteers must be local and complete two days of work for a festival ticket (camping is not included). They work with our site crew doing physical labour work. It can be tough work. Having a good attitude and work ethic is needed. We have less of these positions available.

We don’t use volunteers for bars, ‘artist liaison’, production, publicity or admin. We don’t use any volunteers in backstage roles.

All volunteers must be over the age of 18.

Will I find out if I have a volunteer position before tickets go on sale?

We do not finalise workers and volunteers until after tickets have gone on sale, and not everyone who applies for a volunteer spot will get one.

What’s the criteria to be a volunteer and when should I apply?

For some roles, we are seeking people who have a genuine interest in the event industry and have had some experience in event work already. For other roles, your experience can be varied, as long as you have a strong work ethic and a good attitude. We want people who are flexible, who have initiative and who treat others with respect and kindness.

What jobs do volunteers perform in return for a ticket and do I get free camping?

Event volunteers work shifts in the entry tents, internal traffic control, car park co-ordination, recycling, transport logistics etc, alongside paid personnel. Volunteers are required to do an average of 18-22 hours, in return for a full event ticket that does include camping for the week. These shifts start from the Tuesday before the festival until the Monday after the festival. You could be rostered at any point during this time.

Please note, we don’t use volunteers for bars, ‘artist liaison’, production, publicity or admin. We don’t use any volunteers in backstage roles.

We also have what we call our Pre-fest Volunteer Program, which is a special opportunity for those that live locally to our festival site to volunteer for two full days of work in exchange for an event ticket that does not include camping. This is an exclusive opportunity for the local community. The volunteering is physical labour work supporting our site crew.
