SPLENDOUR 2024 YOUTH POLICY

To ensure the safety and security for all attending Splendour in the Grass 2024 (“the Event”), those aged under 18 years (“Minors”), are required to adhere to the Event Youth Policy that encompasses the liquor licensing conditions of the Event. The Youth Policy forms part of the Terms and Conditions of Sale and Entry for the Event and Campground areas at Ngarindjin / North Byron Parklands (“the Venue”), Yelgun.

Event ticketholders and Camping ticketholders who are Minors aged under 18 years MUST be accompanied by a Responsible Adult holding a valid Event or Event and Camping ticket when entering the Event and Venue Campgrounds and at ALL times whilst at the Event or in the Venue Campgrounds.

Under NSW liquor laws, a Responsible Adult (“Responsible Adult”) is defined as an adult who is:

  • a parent or guardian of the minor
  • the minor’s spouse or de facto partner
  • standing in as the parent of the minor for the time being

Event ticketholders and Event and Camping ticketholders aged under 18 years not accompanied by a Responsible Adult holding a valid Event or Event and Camping ticket will be denied entry into the Event and Venue Campgrounds or removed from the Event and Venue Campgrounds.

Children aged 12 and under at the time of entering the Event are admitted to the Event and Venue Campgrounds free of charge and must at ALL times be accompanied by a Responsible Adult holding a valid Event or Event and Camping ticket when attending Splendour in the Grass.

It is the obligation of the Responsible Adult to ensure that they, and all Minors accompanying them comply with the Event Terms and Conditions of Sale and Entry, instructions issued by Event staff and the Event Youth Policy. All Event patrons must follow any instructions contained in all permanent and temporary signage located in the Event, Venue Campgrounds and throughout the Venue.

Minors must not engage in any illegal or disruptive activities at any time whilst at the Event or in the Venue Campgrounds. This includes underage drinking, use of illicit substances or any disruptive or illegal behaviour.

If you are a Responsible Adult planning to accompany Minors at the Event and Venue Campgrounds, please consider the following;

  1. Alcohol intake must be moderated to ensure that you can responsibly take care of any Minors in your care
  2. The Minors must be with you at ALL times whilst you are at the Event or in the Venue Campgrounds

Anyone who is considering being a nominated Responsible Adult or bringing Minors to the Event or Event Campgrounds should consider this responsibility very carefully. If you are unable to commit to the above, you should reconsider whether you are the right person to be bringing or accompanying Minors to the Event and Venue Campgrounds.

Responsible Adults with Minors in their care should note that they will not be able to enter destination bars onsite with the Minors in their company.

Any breach of these conditions may result in the eviction of the Responsible Adult and all accompanying Minors from the Event and Venue, including the Venue Campgrounds, and Police prosecution or fines may apply.
