Naycab is a Gunai/Kurnai, Gunditjmara, Wiradjuri and Yorta Yorta writer and DJ. With a background as a screenwriter and essayist their sets are about building a narrative, grounded in place and the relationship between the DJ as performer and audience as community. Jumping behind the decks in 2022 with blends of techno, house and acid and a focus on championing particularly black and queer producers, they have an ear for the whimsical and take joy in trawling through the archives to honour the history of dance music. Their sets are fun, surprising and take the energy where it needs to be.
They’ve supported international acts INVT, Jyoty and Saliah and local legends like Dameeela, DJ PGZ, Bertie, and Sleep D.
