G Flip is becoming the role model they never had growing up. The rising superstar makes the kind of high-powered rock/pop music that could only come from the heart and mind of a drummer. The Australian drummer/singer/songwriter/producer matches their potent musicianship with equal parts sonic originality and fantastically outspoken point-of-view (an element informed by their experience as a queer, non-binary artist). Their sophomore album, Drummer (released in August 2023), cemented their status as a truly singular force of nature. The album shot to #1 on the ARIA charts, was named triple j’s best album of the year, and propelled G to their largest sold-out Australian tour and first US headline tour. The album received six ARIA nominations and two wins at the 2023 awards, including the award for best live act. Drummer also saw a whopping seven songs land in triple j’s Hottest 100, breaking the record for most entries ever by an artist in a single year. Their standout track The Worst Person Alive landed at #2 in the Hottest 100 countdown. G is currently on their massive Drummer Tour which has sold over 50,000 tickets across the world. To kick off 2024, G played three sold out shows at London’s KOKO, supported by Blu DeTiger. In May, G Flip will head out on another US headline run including stops at Governor’s Ball and Hangout fest before heading back to Oz for a top slot at Splendour in the Grass.
