Hometown heroes Skegss return to Splendour with their catchy, punky, surf rock anthems. Formed in 2014 in Byron Bay, the band rose to fame with their debut album, My Own Mess, which was released in 2018. The album’s lead single, Up in the Clouds, became a hit, and the band has since gained a devoted following both in Australia and around the world. In 2021, Skegss released their second album, Rehearsal, which scored critical acclaim for its raw, authentic sound and introspective lyrics. A departure from the band’s earlier work, it showcased a more mature and refined sound while maintaining their signature punk rock edge. With a rep for high-energy live shows, they’ve played at numerous festivals including Laneway, and Falls. Their SITG career kicked off in 2015 when they were given the Unearthed spot on the Splendour lineup. They’ve been fan faves ever since.
