After acquiring an obsession for music production through a YouTube tutorial and a free trial of FL studio, Kuren - the moniker of teenage self-taught producer Curtis Kennedy was pitted as one of triple j Unearthed’s 2015 ‘5 New Indigenous Artists You Need To Hear’, unveiling his unique brand of soulful electronica through single ‘It Still Hurts’ and stunning debut EP ‘Love Lost’.
In 2016 he rose to the occasion, named winner of the annual triple j Unearthed NIMAs Competition and setting out on his debut Australian club tour as well as a huge support slot for Just A Gent. Receiving a J Award nomination for Unearthed Artist Of The Year, Kuren rounded out a monumental 2016 adding his emotive sounds to Walkely Award Winning SBS documentary, ‘My Grandmothers Lingo’ before performing at Southbound festival in Perth.
Now, at 19 years old, 2017 sees Kuren releasing new single ‘Mon Amour ft. Austen’ and hitting the road as main support for Slumberjack in May, before hitting the Splendour stage in July.
